ABOUT LIN-BAR MARINE |
History of the Boat Business |
The marine industry was always a major role in our family for many generations. By combining the Chauvin-Belanger families, we can proudly say we have 70 years experience in the marine industry. Our families' experiences range from the building of vessels, owning of dry docks, mechanic work, or the owning and working of vessels.
During the 1930's Adam Belanger, purchased a lugger, M/V Daisy B., that worked for Texaco. Lindsey Chauvin Sr. was the owner of a dry dock in Chauvin, LA, he was a mechanic, and he helped his family build tug boats that also worked in the Texaco fields. Lindsey Chauvin Jr. purchased his first boat the M/V Danny Boy, which was a lugger, and he later built small crewboats to replace the older models and kept the same jobs. The M/V Mr. Jacob was built in the parking lot of the now existing office of Lin-Bar Marine, Inc. and launched on April 11, 1991. Barry Belanger purchased his first vessel the M/V Earl Jr. in 1987 and later purchased the M/V Miss Julienne. These vessels worked near Dauphin Island in Mobile Bay, Alabama along with the M/V Mr. Jacob.

Partnership |
On December 19, 1991, a partnership was established between Lindsey Chauvin Jr.
and Barry J. Belanger in which the corporation became known as Lin-Bar Marine,
Inc. The first vessel for the corporation was the M/V Lin-Bar I, which
was built February 1992. Our fleet eventually consisted of four vessels ranging
from 50 feet to 65 feet in length in a short period of time. On May 1, 1997, Barry and Angela Belanger purchased Lin-Bar Marine, Inc. from Lindsey Chauvin Jr. Once Barry and Angela became owners they added two 110' crewboats and one 80' crewboat to the existing fleet. |

The Big Move |
| In June of 2008, Lin-Bar Marine moved to its new building at 4541 Hwy. 24, Bourg, Louisiana. Due to our successes, Lin-Bar Marine needed more space and facilities. So, we built this great new structure in Bourg, just up from the Klondyke intersection. From here, we will continue to be able to provide the most professional service available, with that "Down da Bayou" spirit. | ||||||
